Adobe Photoshop Lightroom gives you the possibility of organizing, editing and sharing your pictures without any effort. Although most programs from Adobe's Creative Suite can intimidate inexperience users, Lightroom was created with ease of use, speed and comfort in mind. The software is ideal for both professional and amateur photographers, who wish to store their pictures, adjust them and share them in various ways on the fly. Like all Adobe-developed programs, Lightroom is available for Mac OS X and Windows and it takes a few minutes to install it.

The user interface is divided into several modules, which you can access via navigation tabs. Each module has a specific purpose, like organizing a photos library, making visual adjustments, geo-tagging images, creating web galleries and others. The software's controls are organized in a logical manner and the best part is that you don't have to spend more than a few seconds looking for specific options. Everything you need is placed right in front of you.

There are many possibilities that Lightroom has to offer. When it comes to organizing images, the software allows you to rate, flag and color-code them, filter them by their metadata and more. Although the development module seems like a simplified photo processor, you can be sure of the fact that it has the full power of Photoshop behind it. You can adjust colors, tones, the white balance, add affects and much more, on an entire picture or on part of it and the results will be more than satisfying.

Besides sorting and editing your pictures, you can also use them to create photo books or web galleries. If you wish to create a gallery, you can choose from a wide range of templates and save it in Flash, HTML and other formats. Sharing pictures on Facebook, Flickr and other services is another possibility. All you have to do is drag and drop one or more images over a social network's icon.

Pros

You can organize, edit, share and publish images without any difficulties. Lightroom is much easier to understand and use than other Adobe products. Although it is more simple, the software's editing capabilities are still powerful enough to satisfy all users.

Cons

There are no obvious design flaws or functionality gaps to address. Regardless if you are a professional or amateur photographer and what you intend to do with your pictures, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom will make your life much easier.
